Artist Bio
“Art is a type of magic; a way of touching your heart through your eyes, reminding you that the world is a place full of beauty. I want to spread joy. Joy is empowering.” ~ Jadri Elizabeth Barnard
Jadri Elizabeth first picked up a paint brush in 2011 and has since been utterly hooked. The ability to share a part of her heart with others through the tangible medium of art, was a riveting and powerful new skill in which she has found a deep resonance.
Jadri Elizabeth can be described as lively, pragmatic, warm-hearted; wise beyond her years. Dynamic and always eager to grow, she readily strives to share her passion with the world, whether it be through creating beautiful pieces of art or by empowering others to do so.
A quick look at Jadri’s prior achievements should lend some insight into her phenomenal heart and persona:
2009 – 2013 - Completed her degree in Senior Education (Visual Art & Science). She then completed her Honours Degree in Science Curriculum Development (With Visual Art as a subject) at Stellenbosch University.
2014 - Took a gap year from studying to teach English in South Korea. Painted and sold paintings there. Worked on a big murial for a restaurant. When the owner moved the location of the restaurant he took the wall with the painting on with him to the new location.

2017 - Taught at a private school (Newberry House, Somerset West), while painting part-time.
2018 – Taught at another private school (Waldorf Stellenbosch). Continued to paint.
2019 - Pursued her passion as an artist and started painting full time. Started exploring with oil paint and used more watercolour paint. Also started with pottery/ceramic classes.

2021 - Started working as a Visual Art, Biology and Afrikaans teacher at Reddford House. Still a part-time artist.
2023 - Started working as a part-time Visual arts teacher (FET-phase) at Abbots college and still an Artist inspiring others to paint.
2024 - Jadri is currently working as a Visual Arts lecturer at STADIO university and is participating in Art exhibitions in Monaco.
Since she started painting in 2011, Jadri has sold over more than 250 paintings. She has been part of exhibitions in Johannesburg at the Art.Well gallery and Pretoria at the Ivory Manor Boutique Hotel.
Other than her passion for art, children, learning and teaching, Jadri also has a huge heart for the environment, nature, science, and animals.
Jadri Elizabeth continues to eagerly grow, expand and share her craft while looking, bright eyed, towards the future.
